Solid Product at a Great Price
I will preface this review by saying that I have been an HP guy for the last 7 or so years.

I was looking for an affordable, well built unit at a good price for my father to use. When I came across this unit at the $369 price point I could not help but order it.

First, the unit has a very solid feel. Unlike the glossy laptops out there, this unit does not show the finger prints on the case.

The unit stays extremely cool both on the wrist rests as well as on the underside.

Screen is absolutely gorgeous. Very clear, and the clear isn't especially an issue because of the gloss.

I was impressed with how little crapware was preinstalled. I got used to HP which simply loads down every machine with copious amounts of crapware that need to be removed prior to use.

Keyboard is quiet and the keys have a very nice feel when pressed.

I would certainly recommend this laptop to anyone who is looking for an entry level...

Great build quality, but screen resolution and processor are lacking.
This machine is built to withstand almost anything you through at it. The build quality and materials are exceptional. Even nicer than a MacBook Pro.

I really like this machine, except for two issues.

1. Screen resolution. Apple has proven how beautiful and productive higher resolution displays can make even a laptop. Spending the extra money, weight, and bulk to get a 17.3 inch display should result in more room to work. Because the resolution on this machine is no higher than it is on 15 inch machines, you get a display that isn't as attractive and doesn't fit nearly as much content on it as it could with a higher resolution. Apple gets this with their Retina displays, Google gets it with their Pixel laptop, and Dell gets it with their Ultra high resolution series of displays. Hopefully HP will make a higher resolution display available soon on their workstation class laptops.

2. Processor. For only a slightly higher cost you can get this...

Great computer, better price!
I did lots of research before purchasing a laptop. I settled on this one because it seemed to be the most bang for the buck. I have had no problems with it, and I've had it for about 3 months now. In fact, I do everything on it. I love it! The screen is huge. It's not super light, but that was to be expected. It has a great battery life, and I've had no problems with opening multiple webpages as one user said.

The reason this didn't get 5 stars from me is because of the keyboard. It seems really cheap and plasticky. In fact, I can actually see the entire keyboard moving up and down when I'm typing really fast. Doesn't hinder performance, just seems cheap. Other than that, this thing is fantastic! I do recommend it!

Oh, also, Windows 8 is amazing. I'm sure that people who don't like it are those same people who complain everytime Facebook makes a change to their timeline... people who don't like change. It has all the features Windows 7 has, just enhanced. Give it...

Wanted to review the item as of the few reviews posted complaints are a result of windows 8 not the computer in the review. Windows 8 sucked at first but you can actually add Start button apps that make it not suck. The Pokki start menu is very good and can disable some of the annoying features of Windows8. With desktop mode and an actual start button I have been pretty happy with Windows 8's very snappy performance and ability to add gmail/google calendar apps to my task bar.

Now moving past windows I would like to provide an actual review of the product. Lets start with you get what you pay for. I paid <300 from a store that has big blue and yellow letters in its name. I knew going in I needed a machine that was 350 dollars or less and ran windows or mac OS (needed to remote in for work) so chrome book and android was out. Otherwise I do not have very lofty ambitions for this computer. It will be used mostly for light duty tasks and a small amount of media...

The computer turns on and runs very good. I am new to apple but the programs work and run smooth on this computer. The 500 GBs allow me to add or update more to the programs without having to worry about space needed. The computer is clean and the keys are all functional. I did not receive the mouse pad and the GVA component as stated in the deal, but the computer itself is a very clean outside with minor scratches as said, but it runs and works perfect. A great entry level laptop
The Intel version is considerably faster than the AMD E-450 model, which carries the same price. The only downside is a cut in battery life, the AMD gets a little over 4 hours, while I could only get about 3 out of this one. That is under constant use browsing web pages, and using wifi.
It is no speed demon, but it gets the job done. The display has good color, and is bright enough for use outdoors. The USB 3.0 port is a nice touch.

Before Windows 8 was released, this model was selling for $329, and could often be found on sale for $299. And at that price, it is an amazing machine. But at today's nearly $400 price, there might be other options to consider.

Perfect for my needs.
I purchased this product about three months ago, and so far I am very happy with it.

Case:
The laptop is thinner than most gaming laptops you will see, and made out of a nice durable plastic. The lid and palmrest are smooth and silky to the touch, but they attract fingerprints like crazy. I get some compliments on the lid, which has red and black designs on it. The screen has zero flex and seems very sturdy. The keyboard is nice to type on, I love the Steelseries brand, own a Steelseries mousepad. The keyboard is of the chiclet variety and has nice key travel. Doesn't take too long to get used to at all. All the keys are full-size except for the right shift key, which is a bit small. I personally never use that shift key, and would much rather take a small shift key over the tiny arrow keys on some laptop keyboards. Overall the design is great, nice and sturdy construction. 9/10 (for shift key)

Screen:
The screen is by far the nicest thing about this...

This Laptop is everything you would expect It to be. Giving that your expectations are good. I've read some reviews and everyone seemed to hate this laptop. I love it, I've had it for maybe a week now and nothing has gone wrong so far.

Pros:
. Beautiful Operating System (Windows 8), So fluid and fast
. The 2GB RAM is not bad at all
. Stunning Graphics on the Start Menu (Tiles)
. Lots of apps, makes it feel like a really big tablet(Not a TOUCH SCREEN!)

A Decent Ultrabook for a Good Price
I've had this ultrabook for about 2 months now, and it's performed quite decently so far. I'm not a very picky consumer, and I don't gripe about small inconveniences, especially when considering that the price for this ultrabook is rather reasonable when compared to others in the same tech/spec range.

Pros: it really is ultra-light, the sleek design is similar to the 13-inch version of the MacBook Air (though the material & build are likely not as sturdy or well put-together, hence the immense price difference), and it has a sleek outer shell that doesn't retain fingerprints or stains so easily (which is something that netbook/notebook users seem to care about). Most importantly, it is immensely portable.
